RE: I-500 - why is Yam only good at one race?
The one thing i was thinking about during time trials is why is everyone bringing a knife to a gun fight? 98-106 mph sleds,unbelieveable! If you where only doing that back the first year I was there in 94 you beter bring that sled back to the trailer and tune on it. PERIOD! I radared Cory in 98 on a triple polaris,400 laps in and still going 114mph. Yes, it sucks driving with the extra wieght of the triple but your still lighter then the apex and the gen 2 sled handles much better. The top 4 teams were all past champion teams and if Krikkes team wouldn't of had problems they would of been there too. Next year if those teams showed up on cats I bet Cat would win a I-500 even if the apex was still there. Believe it or not i've been telling people from mira and the soo to go to stock motors with a can for noise and it would be much better racing and get more teams involved. Tech might take longer after the race but it would be worth it. Lets start posting things on here or on snowweek on how to make it better for all so we dont lose the race we all love. Mike Gentz
